Bayersdorfer & Co. at the Mercantile Club, the evening of November 11, was one of those lovely affairs that make life worth while. About 120 ladies and gentlemen sat down to an exceedingly modern dinner. Every employee of the house was there, save two who are far away, one in British Columbia, the other in New England. And all were happy. The card room and the entire second floor of the club were tastefully decorated with poppies and evergreen, vases of tall chrysanthemums and flags for our boys on Armistice day. Charles H. Grakelow made the opening speech, lauding the firm for its progressiveness. E. P. Klinger acted as toastmaster. Sydnej' H. Bayesdorfer made a good speech, as did also several heads of departments. Walter Davis was introduced as chair- man of the baseball committee of the Florists' Club. Mr. Davis presented the Campbell cup to the Bayersdorfer team, champion for 1922. Robert Coulter, manager of the team, accepted in a clear style, saying the team would take good care of it and try to win it again next season.
