Windier, Ossick and Connon as a committee to work with Mr. Dyer in behalf of the club, calling on any of the members for such assistance as they may need. A letter from the Chicago^ Florists' Club, inviting the St. Louis club mem- bers to travel with the Chicago florists to Boston in August to attend the S. A. F. meeting, was read by the secre- tary and on motion turned over to the state vice-president, who has charge of the transportation. A letter on affilia- tion from John Young, secretary of the S. A. F., was read and ordered filed for future reference. The trustees were instructed to ar- range for the annual picnic for florists and their families, to take place the lat- ter part of July, at the expense of the club. Treasurer Smith's report showed a good surplus to the club's credit. The next meeting of the club, June 11, will be of great importance to all the members, and with the planting sea- son closed, a record attendance should be present. Various Notes. The Geo. M. Garland Co., of Des Plaines, 111., has opened an office here, in the Fullerton building, with C. C. Shafer in charge. Mr. Shafer says he has been quite busy sending out several estimates to local growers who contemplate build- ing. The Lady Florists' Home Circle spent a pleasant afternoon at the home of Mrs. C. Windier, on Virginia avenue. Every member of the circle was pres- ent. It was decided to meet next month at the home of Mrs. A. Meyer, Jr., on South Jefferson avenue, June 10. The f
