Fairlie to West Kilbride Coast line Landmarks 2
The walk from Fairlie train station in north Ayrshire to West Kilbride will take you back along the coast line and scenic views. The walk takes you past Hunterston castle & house surrounded by scenic feids and the close by coast line where two gigantic prototype wind turbines dominate the sky line. These trials will one day see 100 placed out at sea in the hope the produce the same power and Hunterstone nuclear power stations. Further on and its coastline all the way you’ll pass the amazing three sisters cliff faces that look across the sea to the isle of Arron. Then we have the unsolved 1913 murder of Mary Speir Gunn and whose sister Jessie McLaren like Alexander McLaren were shot in Northbank Cottage.
