NEW YORK (May 26, 2018) Sailors from the USS Zephyr (PC 8) watch as a fire engine from New York City Fire Department station 207 heads out to answer a call, May 26. The Sailors were guests at a dinner hosted by the firefighters in honor of Fleet Week. Now in its 30th year, Fleet Week is the city’s time-honored celebration of the sea services. It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services.
