Hokule'a sails in the wake of their ancestors, including a two-year voyage to Aotearoa (1985-1987) and a voyage to Rapa Nui (1999). With each voyage in her first 25 years, Hokule'a brought knowledge of how their ancestors navigated across open ocean, found islands, and settled Polynesia.
