This image shows oil rigs in repair yard and Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station reflected in Greatham Creek. Despite being surrounded by heavy industry, the intertidal mudflats at Seal Sands are an internationally important site for birdlife. A colony of around 100 common and Grey Seals also breed here. The industrial skyline of Teesside is said to have bee the inspiration for some of the opening scenes in Blade Runner. The Director, Ridley Scott, grew up on Teesside. Good Friday weather for most of the UK is set to be bright and sunny.
