The castle of Almodovar del Rio, Cordoba Province, Andalusia, Spain. This fortress, of Arab origin, belonged to the Califato of Cordoba and later to the Taifas of Seville, Carmona and Toledo. It was fully restored to its present state in the 20th century by Don Rafael Desmaissieres y Farina, XII Count of Torralva. More recently it was one of the shooting locations of the 7th season of the series Games of Thrones. The Hall of Lions, Neogothic Palace. Statue of Gonzalo Fernandez de Cordoba, aka El Gran Capitan, (1453 –1515). Spanish general, statesman and warden of the castle in the 15th century.
