The Torrioni of Monrupino form a geosite of great interest as they are unique formations, approximately 10 meters high, made up of blocks of limestone rock from the Lower-Upper Cretaceous, 145-65 million years old. They are organogenetic formations that have remained isolated from nearby ones due to the dissolving capacity of meteoric water on the surrounding rocks. One of the towers is the monument to the fallen in the fight against are located in the province of Trieste, on the border with Slovenia.
