The subsequent treatment of the plats was identical in every respect. MOISTURE CONTENT OF THE SOIL. Soil-moisture determinations were made on the plats in the rota- tion during each year of the test. The plats growing wheat were sampled at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of each season, while the other plats were sampled about once a month during the season. The moisture content of each foot of soil to a depth of 6 feet was determined in the usual manner. The results indicate that there was very little difference in the moisture content of any foot of soil on the different plats. The varia-.
