A young First nation boy stands on the winter road (ice road) into Fort Chipweyan. The town is on the Athabasca river and lake downstream of the tar sands mines. The Alberta tar sands in Canada is the world's largest industrial project and the most environmentally destructive. Many people in Fort Chipewyan have died of cancer.
