Caption: Lieutenant Estep from the Signal Corps Army captured this photograph during World War One. It shows Captain William Harrigan, son of Leo Harrigan, in a heavily shelled position. This entrance to a cave served as headquarters between Merval and Glemes, France. Captain Harrigan was sadly killed in action in October 1918. The photo was released by the Censor, but the exact date is unknown. Archive reference: 111-SC-22096.
