Suspend the preparations (sections fixed to the slide) upside down on the stain to saturate them from below, to avoid precipitate. Stain in this solution for thirty minutes. Wash thoroughly in water, then in a 10% solution of tannic acid, which will^brighten the color, and again wash in water. Dehydrate in alcohol, clear and mount in xylol balsam. The stain as above prepared spoils quickly.
