The patterns filling the angular spaces in the second arch ringare, as beforesaid, very various, and those which are clear areshown (Fig. 9). Perhaps the most interesting are those in thediamond-shaped panels on the arris, which are, of course, in twoplanes, but shown developed on to the flat in the drawing. Each
