Coast Guardsman Victor Heyden, Boatswain's Mate First Class, of 8141 Victoria Avenue, South Gate, Los Angeles, Calif., participated in the invasion of Okinawa in the Ryukyus aboard a Coast Guard-manned LST. A Coast Guard combat correspondent, Heyden previously saw action in the landing assaults on Iwo Jima.
