These Soldiers are a few of approximately 4,000 who have deployed to Fort Polk for the Joint Readiness Training Center, which is often regarded as the Super Bowl of the Army. The rotation is part of a large scale exercise for the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team headquartered out of Syracuse, NY, and will test the capabilities of every level of command. The Soldiers pictured here are preparing vehicles and trailers with Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement Systems (MILES). When a vehicle or Soldier is notionally "shot" the system goes off letting them know so that they can be taken out of the training scenario to see how the rest of the team reacts and recovers.
