Barn Swallows (Hirundo rustica), once known as the Eurasian Swallow is a migratory swallow that travels vast distances between it's breeding grounds and migratory grounds. The Barn Swallow breeds in the northern hemisphere and migrates as far south as South Africa where it is seen here in a flock taking off into a strong wind.
