Gold Medalswere also received for excellence in Compilation of Textbooks and for Educational Workamong the natives of the ?= =00= THE FACULTY ^ 6= =1X7 DEAN John Jesse Clark, M. E., Dean of the Faculty, and Chiefof the Textbook Department, graduated from Lehigh Univer-sity in 1888. He obtained valuable practical experience inthe machine shops of the Fall Brook Coal Co., Coming, N. Y.,and the Latrobe Steel Works, Latrobe, Pa.; he was alsoemployed as a draftsman with both these firms, and for sometime had charge of the patterns for the former. Mr. Clark hasalso held positions as draftsman with Harrison Bros. & Co.,Philadelphia, Pa., and with the Steams Manufacturing Co.,Erie, Pa. He left the latter firm to enter the employ of theSchools in 1892. DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTION John Lowrey Martin, C. E., Director of Instruction, isa graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. For fiveyears he was assistant engineer with a large mining companyat Lake Linden, Mich. He was assistant city engineer ofLansing, Mich., for two years; U. S. Engineer Inspector atChicago, 111., one year; assayer with the Spotted H
