Wrist joint movements, illustration. Bones of the wrist joint, showing the alignment of the bones and the range of movement (black lines) of the joint. The wrist is where the larger lower arm bone (the radius) articulates with the bones of the carpus in the hand. Also known as the radiocarpal joint, the wrist joint is an example of a condyloid joint, also known as an ellipsoid joint.
