A protester at the University of Sussex makes the message clear during a demonstration against the proposed outsourcing of jobs.

A national demonstration on Monday, March 25th, 2013 saw crowds from around the UK gather at the University of Sussex in protest at the ongoing privatisation of the education sector. The demonstration was prompted by ongoing action at Sussex opposing the outsourcing of 235 jobs in campus services to a private company. The colour yellow has become symbolic of the protest and is used as a sign of solidarity with the 235 University employees who have faced uncertainty about the future of their job contracts and pensions since the University management proposed to outsource jobs to a private, profit making, company.
