Scales rather small, concentricallystriate ; those on cheeks, opercles, and breast considerably smaller,feebly developed, more or less papilliform. Six rows of small scalesforming the sheath along base of dorsal fin ; 3-4 rows forming sheathalong anal. Xo naked groove between sheath and body spines evenly graduated. Anal short, spines not very strong,anterior rays considerably longer than the posterior ones. The type species of this genus is C. f
