Micrometeoroid impact with the ISS (International Space Station). This impact was noticed on 6th June 2007, during the Russian spacewalk conducted by cosmonauts Fyodor N. Yurchikhin (Expedition 15 commander) and Oleg V. Kotov (flight engineer). It was Yurchikhin who discovered the damage to a multi-layer insulation (MLI) blanket on the Zarya Module. The date the damage occurred is unknown, but has had no impact to vehicle operations. The International Space Station (ISS) is a joint effort by several national space agencies, including NASA. It orbits Earth at an altitude of around 350 kilometres. Photographed on 6th June 2007.
