EAST CHINA SEA (March 8, 2017) Aviation Support Equipment Technician 1st Class Beulah Palmer, of Charleston, South Carolina, outlines a design on an aircraft towing tractor in the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) hangar bay. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment as part of the Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend the command and control functions of 3rd Fleet. Navy aircraft carrier strike groups have patrolled the Indo-Asia-Pacific regularly and routinely for more than 70 years.
