050627-O-0000X-001. The Pre-Commissioning Unit guided missile destroyer FORREST SHERMAN (DDG 98) underway in the Gulf of Mexico during sea trial exercises. The FORREST SHERMAN successfully completed the third super trial, a concept developed by industry and US Navy (USN) as a cost saving measure. This allows funds saved for other shipbuilding needs, such as maintenance.
