Nicolas Remene / Le Pictorium - Mali: the anti-French feeling - 15/3/2022 - Mali / Bamako District / Bamako - El Bashir Thiam poses here with a raised fist, a symbol of resistance, in a maquis in the ACI 2000 neighborhood. Thiam is a former janitor of an inn in the capital, he left his job to devote himself to his fight, the fight against the imperialism of the former colonial power and its interests in Mali. He is a founding member of the movement -On a tout compris- and a member of the collective -Yerewolo, debout sur les remparts- with whom he carries out anti-France actions on the ground but also via social networks where he proudly displays his feats of arms and whose profiles and pages have been blocked by Facebook in particular. The two groups are known to be the investigators of numerous marches demanding the departure of French and UN forces.
