CBBC's Blue Peter presenter Rudzi Chinyangana who was in Trafalgar Square making a programme about the Christmas tree was hoisted into the air on a cherry picker to place the star on top of the 21m high Norway Spruce. The tree is given every year to the people of London by the people of Oslo as a gesture of appreciation for the help they received during World War II.
