The latter is now unrolled and both edges of the com-press are brought forward upon the front of the chest,and are thus made to envelop the latter snugly. The THE TECHNIC OF HYDROTHERAPY 71 flannel cover, which has been allowed to lie upon the bedduring the application of the wet compress, is now broughtforward so as to cover the latter. It is secured by twosafety-pins in front and one pin upon each arms are lowered, the flaps brought above theshoulders, and the patient is thus enveloped in a wetvest (Fig. 20).. As indicated above, this compress should be made tofit snugly when wrapped around the chest, to preventchilling during vaporization of the water. On the otherhand, it should not be so tight as to embarrass the breath-ing.
