Stubborn to clear away, it isdetermined in its efforts to regain the land fromwhich it has been ousted. Such a thing as allowinga field to lie fallow for two or three years is unknownin Panama. There would be no field visible for thenew jungle growth. Agriculture therefore is conducted in a small wayonly, except for the great corporations that have justbegun the exploitation of Panama.
