Long Island, satellite image. Satellite image showing the volcanic island of Long Island (centre) in the Bismark Sea, off the coast of Papua New Guinea. Vegetation is green, water is blue, and cloud is white. Long Island consists of two stratovolcanoes: Mount Reaumur and Cerisy Peak. Past eruptions caused the summit of the volcanic complex to collapse producing a large caldera, which is now filled with a crater lake known as Lake Wisdom (centre black). Imaged in March 1991.
