Palace of Horticulture, World's Fair, St Louis, Missouri, USA, 1904. Vintage postcard showing a view of the Palace of Horticulture and surrounding grounds. Held in St Louis' Forest Park, the 1904 World's Fair, more properly known as the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, was held to commemorate the centenary of the purchase by the United States from France of the territory of Louisiana. The purchase doubled the size of the territory of the United States.
