The proposed plan for using the houses should work satisfactorily if the north house is used for plants that grow well at 55 to 60 degrees, and if a part of the radiation is shut off in the carnation bouse. While a temperature of 50 degrees answers well for most kinds of carnations, some va- rieties like 52 to 55 degrees, but none of the common varieties of roses do well unless kept at about 60 degrees and a few sorts should have 63 degrees.
