Comrade Van Horn was born in Mil-ford April 22, 1846. Comrade Van Hornrecalls with pride that though only arecruit, he participated in the engage-ments at Chester Station, Proctors Creek,Drewrys Bluff, Ware Bottom Church,and in the battles and skirmishes to theend of the war. He is a brother ofComrade George Van Horn, whose recordhas been given under his name.
