Fishermen in boats hold their fishing rods at Doiran or Dojran lake in southeastern Macedonia. The lake has an area of km2 and is shared between the Republic of Macedonia and Greece. Survived an ecological disaster after drought and excessive use of its water. Its water level fell nearly ten meters and brought into question the survival of its flora and fauna. Government measures in 2002, when two rivers were re-directed to the lake, restored the life in the lake. Today, specially in summer time is one of the most popular holiday destination in Macedonia.
