Trafoi (Trafoi in German) is a fraction of the Italian municipality of Stelvio, in the autonomous province of Bolzano, located in the Alta Val Venosta, at 1,570 m along the road that from Prato allo Stelvio climbs to the Stelvio pass from the South Tyrolean side (state road 38 dello Stelvio). Here is the home of the Stelvio National Park and the "Naturatrafoi" visitor center, with an exhibition dedicated to the theme of "life on the borders", talking about the geological aspects of the Ortler massif and the survival of plants and animals in extreme climatic conditions of the high mountains. It is also the birthplace of Gustav Thöni, a well-known Italian skier. Read more :
