In the Mohammedancemeteries at Tunis and Tripoli all of the holes whichI have noticed are in the middle, but many of them aremerely shallow indentations in the slabs, and are notreally holes. Over the grave of a marabout will be erecteda four-pillared dome, or kuba, such as is seen in 111. when in a recognised cemetery, they are usually atthe tops of hills, but this is by no means always the case.
