The railway line was covered in pebbles and sleeper foundations were undermined. The town awaits another high tide tonight with trepidation. With over 500 flood warnings and alerts nationwide The Environment Agency has warned people to be prepared to protect themselves and their homes and to stay well back from high water mark on coastlines.
