The Market. The cut flower market for last week has made the prices of stock increase, as the demand was heavy. This is ac- counted for by the school graduating exercises and the abundance of funeral work. The demand for cut flowers in the graduating exercises has increased somewhat. Red roses and carnations held the lead over other colors. There was an abundant supply of roses, which went well, and none were left on hand at the close of last week. Roses are still holding up well, while carnations have gone backward consid- erably. A good supply of cut lilies has just commenced to come in and they are the best that have been on the mar- ket for some time.* Sweet peas are plentiful and better than usual for this time of the year. Various Notes. Samuel Murray says that the com- mencement exercises are demanding more stock each year and that he has bad a large increase over last year. The W. L. Rock Flower Co. is send- ing in some exceptionally fine carna- tions, roses and cut lilies. The com- pany reports that decorating was heavy last week. The Peterson Floral Co. is still busy planting out bedding stock and says that business has been good for the last several weeks. Arthur Newell was busy all week. The graduating exercises almost cleaned him up in the cut flower line; his busi- ness doubled over last year's of this kind. Roses wen
