NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (April 21, 2022) Items being placed in the island landing time capsule of flight deck control are placed on display during the ceremony aboard aircraft carrier, Pre-Commissioning Unit John F. Kennedy (CVN 79). The time capsule will be opened in the future during John F. Kennedy’s refueling and complex overhaul. John F. Kennedy is the second Ford-class aircraft carrier and is under construction at HII's Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) division.
