Four splendid knives with mother-of-pearl grips from the dessert service "en vermeil", the Tsar's court jeweller, Nichols & Plinke, St. Petersburg Gilt silver and mother-of-pearl, inlaid with gilt silver medallions displaying extremely fine engraving of the monogram "ON" under the grand ducal coronet and the crowned Russian double-headed eagle. The steel knife blades are stamped with the mark "N & P". Knife lengths 22 cm.
