Grand Canyon National Park Phantom Ranch Boat Beach . From Boat Beach at Phantom Ranch (River Mile ) Grand Canyon river trips pull in here to obtain drinking water and to exchange passengers. The South Kaibab Trail crosses the Colorado River on this narrow foot bridge 440 feet/ 134 m across and 70 feet/ 21 m above the water. Access to Bright Angel Campground and Phantom Ranch is via this bridge, built in 1928. Phantom Ranch is a 1/2 mile (.81 km) walk up Bright Angel Creek. NPS
