(Fig. lo.) It acts in the same way asthe whole pack, stimula-ting and warmth-inducing,or soothing and heat-_ reducing. It is also useful,^X^3^^^^ ^^ t^^ same cases, but in^-=_^^__^ _^^ inflammatory complaints ^g- i°- the inflamed parts should be further cooled by cold compresses. Rules as before. Thispack can be HALF PACK. This pack reaches only from the navel to the feet. Eachleg and foot must here also be wrapped up separately. The half pack is employed only in the stimulating form,and in connection with other outer procedures, either toremove pressure of blood to the head, or in headache, ravings,giddiness, sleeplessness, and in heart and lung complaints,tremors of legs and feet, rheumatic pains and gouty swellingsof legs, kidney and bladder complaints, piles, wind, femalecomplaints, etc. Duration, one and a half to two and a half hours. After-wards a half bath, washing or rubbing, etc. PACKS. 45 BODY PACK. This pack reaches from the armpits to the thighs. Eithera sheet folded in four can be employed, or two towels sewntogether, or raw silk, etc. The woollencoverings, blankets, rugs, or baize, etc.,must be two to three fingers broader thanthe cloth, and the latter must be so laid,that the chest and abdomen have a doublecovering.
