Romanians gathered in Trafalgar Square for their 17th week of protests, part of a worldwide series, against the proposed gold mine, which will use enormous quantities of cyanide in its processes, at Rosia Montana. They also demonstrated against fracking exploration by oil companiies such as Chevron who they say are relying on government corruption and ignorance to easily access land on which to explore for shale gas.
