Commissioned by public subscription to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, the John Douglas designed Eastgate Clock sits on top of Chester City Wall at Eastgate Street. In the background is the 19th century former Grosvenor Club and North and South Wales Bank – also designed by John Douglas - on Eastgate Street, which is now an HSBC Bank.
