Arctic tern chick (Sterna paradisaea) calling. Female arctic terns lay up to three eggs per clutch. The young hatch after 22-27 days and fledge after 21-24 days. Parents aggressively defend their young and feed them a regular diet of fish. The parents help the chicks fly south for their first migration in winter. Photographed in Northumberland, UK, in June.
