The Chuya steppe is located near the border between Russia and Mongolia It is very harsh and severe place Situated on the altitude approximately 2 thousand meters above the sea level this steppe is the most arid region of Russia Because of high mountainous ranges that surround the steppe there is always very high atmospheric pressure above it In winter it is one of the coldest areas minus 60 degrees Celsius In summer plus 30 degrees Celsius The Chuya steppe is the only one region in Russia where is such exotic animal husbandry as camel breeding is popular
