One of our home authorities in mattersof style, describes the morning corset asbeing from nine to ten inches deep, with avery few whalebones, which give a goodfigure, without either pressing the body orhindering the movements in the slightestdegree. A winter corset is made of white or grayjean, with supports of whalebones andsteels, and must be perfect-fitting. Thiscorset is laced in the back, and secured byhooks in front. Still another style of corset is short infront, deep cut over the hips, and supportsthe body without pressure; this is much infavor with lady horseback riders. In mak-ing these corsets, jean or coutil is thefavored fabric. M. E. L. CHAIR The beautiful design for a chair cushionhere given, is to be worked in gay em-broidery on neutral-tinted cloth or felt.
