The recruits test to earn a tan belt, which is the first level in the program, and they will continue to train and level up to earn the gray, green, brown and black belts later in their careers. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 12.
