Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John Rees Lewis, at The Limit in Sheffield, England, in the late 1980s, with the C Cat Trance. Lewis co-founded UK post-punk band Medium Medium, best known for their 1981 single "Hungry, So Angry." He went on to co-found C Cat Trance with Nigel Stone, the founding drummer with Medium Medium. C Cat Trance, which had a fluid lineup in the studio and on the road, combined post-punk with elements of Turkish, Middle Eastern and North African music and funk. Both bands were originally formed in Nottingham, England. Lewis passed away in early July 2024.
