Dorothy Hansine Andersen (1901-1963) was an American pediatrician and pathologist who was the first to identify and name the disease of cystic fibrosis, which she did in 1939. She won the E. Mead Johnson Award (1939), the Elizabeth Blackwell Award (1952), and was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame (2002). Photo, c. 1950s.
