They grow well in pots of soil, but the most popular way of blooming them is the Chinese method, as follows: Put about one inch of sand in a shallow bowl, or some similar vessel, about four inches deep; place the bulb on this, and pack it firmly with small pebbles or pieces of rock; then fill it with water to the top of the pebbles, and place in a warm, sunny window. The bu^b will at once commence a rapid grcjwth, and blooni in five or six weeks.
