There are three things absolutely necessary to be a successful horseman:Genileness, patience, and firmness, particularly the first. A few colts require veryfirm treatment, but my experience has been the pupil is as anxious to learn as theteacher is to teach. When the foal is a few days old I would put on a leather halter(a foals halter) : in all probability it must be held the first time this is done. If.
